Course Overview
This course is designed to guide students through the successful completion of the Individual Report component of the I/GCSE Global Perspectives syllabus. It provides structured, step-by-step support for selecting a global issue, developing research questions, and crafting a thoughtful, well-evidenced report.
The course begins by helping students understand the requirements of the Individual Report, including topic selection, perspective analysis, and source evaluation. Through guided research tasks and model examples, students learn how to construct a balanced, analytical report that meets the assessment objectives. Special attention is given to developing independent thinking, critical reflection, and effective communication of findings.
At the end of the course, the student:
- Understands the assessment criteria for the IGCSE Global Perspectives Individual Report and how to meet them confidently.
- Gains the skills to choose a suitable global issue and explore it from a range of contrasting perspectives.
- Learns to plan and conduct independent research using credible sources and proper referencing techniques.
- Develops the ability to evaluate evidence, analyse differing viewpoints, and draw well-reasoned conclusions.
- Produces a clear, well-structured Individual Report that demonstrates analytical depth, global awareness, and academic rigour.
